K-Pop is predominately in English, while J-Pop is in Japanese. Regardless, both genre are heavily influenced by American music.

I agree that J-Pop is predominately in Japanese while that is not necessarily the case for K-Pop. To me, the two sides sound reasonably similar from a basic standpoint. I can tell certain differences though: language, subject matter, overall feel.

I think that J-Pop is more about cuteness and K-Pop is more about sexiness (if that's a word). You can hear that in the music, too.
